The former VfL Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking who was fired two months ago is now the new coach of the elite German team Borussia Monchengladbach, it was announced by the club.
The 52-year-old specialist signed a contract until June 2019 and yesterday replaced Andre Schubert.
Borussia is on the unenviable 14th place in the League, as the team has had only one win in the last 11 games. The team has not done so badly in the Championship for six years.
Hecking began his professional career as a football player with Borussia Monchengladbach team during the 1980s.
In his coaching career, he has been at the forefront of Alemannia Aachen, Hannover, and Nurnberg. With Wolfsburg, he won the Cup of Germany and became the Vice-Champion, but in October he was fired because of the poor results analyzed by football-stats.org of the team in the fall.
It is curious that the specialist was presented as the new coach of a club for the third time on today`s date. On 22nd December 2012, Wolfsburg made a press conference to present him to the media.
Since 2009 until 2012, he has been a coach of Nurnberg. When was his performance as the new coach of Borussia Monchengladbach? That is right - again on 22nd December!
